My Diva

I know you can't see Chelsea's face, but I LOVE this picture. The pose, the attitude, everything! She loves walking around in our big shoes. What kid doesn't?

So after I took that first picture above, Chelsea started saying "Baggies! Baggies!" I wasn't sure why she wanted baggies, but I let her get some anyway. I don't know why I took a picture, but it works well in sequence with the following.

After getting out two baggies, she sat on the floor and opened them.
Then she stuffed one baggie in each shoe.

Then she put them on and walked around a bit more. Silly girl! I don't know what gave her the idea, but oh well!

This was after bath one night. We were about to put PJs on and she decided she wanted to read one of our bathroom Reader's Digests, so she grabbed the "ma-zine book" (as she calls it,) raced into her room, climbed into bed, covered up, and promptly started to read.

Yay! A chance to get wet! It was so warm out one day last week that we got all decked out in our swim gear and headed to the splash park. About five minutes after we got there, the temperature dropped about 10 degrees, it clouded over, and it started to thunder. :S Crazy weather. We managed to get in a little splashing before we decided it was too cold.

Cheese!

Daddy holding Chelsea under the waterfall. She loved it, as long as he brought her back in close to warm up right away!

Running through the middle, into Mommy's warm arms! She carried that flag from home and didn't put it down the entire time we were there. Too funny.

The long awaited ultrasound...

Before I show the ultrasound, I have to show off our cute family! We decided to dress all alike one day and practice using the self timer on the camera. Chelsea had a ball! She said "Cheese!" and then "Again!" several times. Is she used to her picture getting taken? :)

This is actually quite flattering as far as belly shots. It doesn't look very big at all! I feel much bigger than this photo looks. I'm bigger at this point than I was with Chelsea. I'm not uncomfortable or anything yet, although I've had some problems sleeping the last few nights. I don't know if that was just excitement about the ultrasound or not. Chelsea was cute posing with me.

This is a closer view of my 21 week belly. We did the ultrasound today. I'm at 22 weeks now. I was going to take a picture of my belly today to go next to the ultrasound image, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. My tummy doesn't look much different than it does here, so this one will have to do.

Ta da!
Here she is, looking straight ahead for us. I put it sideways because it is much easier to make out her facial features. I'm sad that this is the only image the gal printed for us. Chelsea's doctor gave us four different images and they were far clearer than this, and it showed her sucking her thumb. This ultrasound was much harder to see anything at all. Oh well. There is a baby in there and she will join the family in a few months! Yay!

Oh, by the way, it is a girl!

It's not 100% certain. She was moving around an awful lot and kept her legs close together most of the time. But as the gal doing the ultrasound says, we "didn't see anything that looked like a boy" at any point during the whole 30-minute process. Chelsea has been saying she wants a sister for quite some time now. It seems she will get her wish!

Washin' the Car

This was last week when the weather was actually nice. It's been somewhat cold and/or rainy this week. Chelsea is pouring water on the car with her little bucket. Some of the water actually made it onto the car.

Scrub, scrub, scrub! What a good helper!

Chelsea had fun helping wash both vehicles!

"Need more soap."

It took Chelsea quite awhile to notice the leaking hose, but once she did, what do you suppose she wanted to do? Drink it, of course! So much for staying dry!

We didn't go full out in swim gear because we were trying to get the cars washed before our dinner was done baking in the oven. I guess it would have been worth the extra couple minutes it would have taken to change clothes since she ended up soaked anyway, hehe.

Aunti Elizabeth dropped by while we were outside. She helped Chelsea get dry (and warm!) before going back inside.
