New Cammie

I got us a new camera. I like our old one alright, but I just felt like we needed an upgrade. Not a bad practice shot, eh? All the pictures from here on out are from the new camera. (Canon SX 120 IS for those of you who wanted to know) I got a new memory card also, and I lost the old one already. Can you believe that? It's probably in the diaper bag or something, but I haven't searched too hard for it. There MAY be two photos that I didn't transfer to the computer yet, but I can handle that loss. I already printed them anyway. (whew, right?)

More practice shots. Gotta love those cheeks! The girls get along so well with their Auntie Beth.

I accidentally uploaded this one, which is still really cute but at the same time very similar to the previous one, but blogger wouldn't let me delete it for anything. So here it is. :)

Fun and games. I love the big ol' smile babies get when they are happy or laughing.

This one was taken in the complete darkness. Still seeing what this camera will do in different conditions. Chelsea had requested socks and I was looking for green ones in her drawer. I thought these were green in the dark. But as you can plainly see, they are blue. You can also see her new "Nightlight Sea" as she likes to call it. Her nightlight has little fish and some planty-type things in it, and the light changes color. She really likes it. At first she would just lay right next to it and stare at it. Yeah, probably not the greatest idea. Luckily, the novelty has worn off a little and she sleeps normally.

What is the need for a nightlight, you ask? Well. Chelsea has either developed fears of the bumps in the night, or is thinking of new stall tactics to keep her from going to bed any sooner than humanly possible. She says "There's something under Brie's crib." or "There's something by my bed." Bah. Sometimes Daddy can dustbuster them out of there, and other times we just have to convince her she's safe. Bah. She was biting her nails one night and got a nail stuck in between her teeth, so now every night there's something stuck in her teeth and she wants the floss to get it out. I have one thing to say: You don't fool me, kid. :)

Post-bath Brienna. We call this being Tacoed. Like a taco, get it? Hah!

This little sweetheart is five months old! She turned five months on Sunday. This shot was before church. I couldn't get her to smile. But I like this because she chews on her fingers a lot. No teeth have cut through yet, but we're watching for them.

After hours of putting off bedtime and making several trips to the potty and NO nap because of church, this is how Chelsea ended up when we got home from church. I let her sleep for about half an hour, till 5 PM. That is the latest she's allowed to nap, ever. Sleeping at night is much more important in our book.

So at 5 I took off her coat and shoes and woke her up. I gave her a minute to regain function before making her actually get out of bed, and this is how I found her when I went in to get her out of bed. So funny! It took a bit of effort to get her out of bed, but we made it!

This is a better 5-month shot: smiling! This is after dinner Sunday. She is usually quite chipper like this. I am finding Brie is a much easier-going baby than Chelsea. I always felt frazzled with Chelsea (some days I still am, believe me). Or maybe I'm just more experienced this time. Who know.

You know how they say that when you have two kids to love, you don't love the other less to make some love for the second, your heart grows and holds more love? I've found the same thing goes for capacity to handle things, specifically babies. Babies are so hard for me. I like kid kids much better. Well when I had just one baby I had so much trouble getting ANYthing done. Or finding time for myself, or getting any sleep. Well now I have two babies and I still get nothing done, but it's easier. Now if I ever have just one kid to take care of, it's a cakewalk. (Such as when one is sleeping or spending the night at Grandma's or something) Does that make sense to anyone else, or just to me? Hm. Just a thought I am having right now. (I'm having a fairly productive day, so things seem very peachy to me right now. Plus both girls are asleep, hence I can sit and think and type for a bit.)

Anyway, on to a few more photos. Here is another of my fabulous balloon animals. This one is a mouse. I know it looks an awful lot like the dog, and his tail is too fat, but oh well. The ears and the tail are the only difference anyway.

She's getting curious about things! Brie also spends much more time happily on her tummy these days. She rolled from back to tummy today for the first time. She can roll and rotate on the floor, but she hasn't figured out how to do it intentionally, moving around I mean. She's tucking her legs underneath her a bit too. We'll see how long it takes to get to crawling. We were comparing baby books the other night. Chelsea didn't start rolling till seven months! But she was starting to sit up on her own and cut a tooth as soon as she turned five months. Goes to show how each baby is different.

Can you take a picture of me? It's funny how the pictures that she requests me to take have the fewest smiles. Oh well. She's still worth taking pictures of! My cute big girl! She's pretty well potty trained. Her diaper was hardly wet this morning (probably due to all the potty trips before bed!) so maybe, just maybe it won't be so long before we can switch to panties instead of pull ups or diapers at night. *fingers crossed* Progress! Woot!
