Summer's over

Even though summer is over, life is still pretty much the same for us, despite the weather abruptly changing from hot hot hot to chilly pretty much as soon as school started. We are all battling cough and cold season. Rick and Chelsea have pretty much lost the fight. I am the only one still mostly healthy. No cough or sore throat for me.

Rick and I are both now on Facebook, so any of you friends that are on facebook, look us up!

Rawr!

We brought out the old carseat again because some friends of ours had a little baby that likes to sit up in carseats. Chelsea also took advantage of the nice loungy seat while reading her book the other day.

Whoa, leaned back a little too far I think. She thought it was funny until she got tangled in the blankets and couldn't get up. I was trying to capture the cuteness of her holding her baby wrapped in a blanket while she herself was wrapped in a blanket. She squirmed and threw herself back and ruined that cuteness, but this chubby smile is also quite cute I think. ;)

What were we watching? I think Between the Lions was on. Great show. I highly recommend it.

Did I mention that Chelsea was not feeling very well today? For the first half hour after she woke up, all she wanted to do was drink a bottle of juice and snuggle with me on the couch. As much as I hate it when she's sick, I love that she is so snugly. She says "hug" every time she hugs her baby. So sweet.

She looks like she might be smiling, but really she's trying to hand me the camera case and is getting upset that I'm taking her picture instead of the camera case. Her face was cute and smiley, hence I was taking a picture. I've gotta get a faster camera....

Just a little catching up.

We inherited a bunch of clothes from one of my coworkers. Chelsea liked the clothes, but this tub was the best part! She climbed in and out and in and out. Just like at Christmas time when the kids open a present and then play with the box.

I love the hair. It reminds me of the old days when it stuck up all the time all on it's own! Static is wonderful sometimes!

Whoa!

Mommy's cousin got married on 08-08-08. What a cool day to get married. Chelsea's dress eve matched the wedding colors, and we didn't even know it till we arrived!

After the ceremony there were many pictures taken. The kids played in the nursery area of the church while the grown ups snapped photos and oohed and ahhhed about the wedding party. Tyjah is very excited to be at her mommy and daddy's wedding. She must be imagining herself as a bride now. :)

Chelsea was tired and a little bit afraid of someone right here. Kinda (mom's cousin, sister of the groom) is holding her son Gavin and Tyjah is in the middle. What cute kids we all have! I can't wait to see the newest one, coming in a couple short...er long...months!

Reed and Chelsea at Grandma's house this weekend. Don't they look so cute in their similar-type pajamas!

Chelsea is protecting that ball with all her might!

The kids appear to be playing together, but that wasn't usually the case. I love how Jeff is reading aboutElmo in the background. :)

Good book!

Splash Park Fun

Chelsea had a blast at the splash park. She was hesitant at first, but she got into it a little. She actually walked right through the middle of the spray a few times, one time right after I stopped recording...grumble grumble....missed it.

She was just SO cute! Since this time we've taken her to the big pool as well, but she seemed to enjoy the splash park more. I think she feels more in control this way.

State Fair!

Something to officially commemorate the occasion. Photo op!

Can't keep her eyes open any longer. She's been resisting going to sleep for about three hours at this point. Finally, after eating most of a corn dog (her first corn dog ever) she dropped off

Still a little dazed. She didn't get quite the nap she needed. She woke up during the show where a guy put 6 people inside a balloon. Yeah, 6 people! It was pretty cool to watch and it would have been cool to do, but it was hot enough OUTside the balloon, hehe.

Her first ice cream cone! Sorry about the color. We are not sunburned, just under a tent. She LOVED eating the ice cream. We managed to be in control of MOST of the mess, but it's ice cream. It's supposed to be messy. (at least at the fair)

At the petting zoo! I wanted to buy some feed and let the animals eat out of her hands, but I think she's a little too little for that still. Maybe next year. I haven't figured out why she was bending over like this, but it is really cute.

Hmm...Not sure I like this one....I don't remember what she was looking at. She liked the emu, but it made me nervous that it was going to peck at her. The llama was pretty cool too.

A better view?

We were going to try to catch the dog show before heading home, but we were early. So we came to the kids break room. This was one of the highlights of Chelsea's day thus far.

Yo, Mama! She liked this house until another kids opened the door and Chelsea was about to leave, but then the other kid shut her in. Whaaa! She recovered quickly though.

Parade!

What a beautiful day for a parade! It started out a little chilly, hence the blanket. It warmed up though, and we all had a blast.

Ball! Yet another ball to add to our collection. At least this one is deflatable so it can take up less space. Chelsea had a great time at the parade. She never asked to be taken out of her stroller. She had good front row seats and was satisfied sitting there. Whew! It would have been frustrating for her to not be allowed to chase the floats/horses/whatever down the street had she been free to run around. Next year she will collect candy. This year Rick and I did all the fetching. (and eating) :)

We stayed at the parade for about 2 1/2 hours. We would have stayed longer if Mommy hadn't had to go to work, but it's a good thing we left when we did. The little one was out cold before we made it home. She slept for another 2 1/2 hours afterward too! I love events that wear out your kids! Us grown ups enjoyed it a lot too.

Happy Birthday Daddy! I guess he's not so happy about aging. Just wait till next year! Ha ha ha!

Pizza and juice. Gotta have it all at the same time. She always tries to pick up every toy at the same time. She's getting creative about it now!

Cute flag waving at the parade. She was SO into everything that was going on. She got all sorts of goodies too. Flags, frisbee, frisbee disc, beach ball, candy....ah what fun!

Here is some sleepy excitement. She is waving and yawning at the same time. Parades are so much better with kids. Some of the families around us were admiring Chelsea and commenting on how good she is. :)

Growin up, still

This is how Chelsea lets us know she's ready to eat.

Okay, I'm ready for the tray! Feed me, Mommy!

This is how big Chelsea was when we brought her home from the hospital.

This was a few days ago. Look at the size difference! They grow up so fast, don't they?

I had her old car seat in the house to wash it and store it until the next baby needs it, and Chelsea had a ball climbing in it. What a funny girl. (with that ever-present bruise on her forehead. I don't beat my child, I promise!)

Fun Times

Wearing Mommy's flip flops on her arms. She's a girl that loves shoes.

Chelsea loves Daddy's early birthday present. Everyone chipped in and got him this bike ride-along. Chelsea was sitting in it ready to go before we even had it fully assembled.

I love this picture! Her smile just makes a mommy melt.

Chelsea does have parents too. Look, here they are!

Parker and Chelsea sitting on the stage... I love how they are sitting exactly the same.

The morning before the 4th of July pancake breakfast. We had to wake her up a little bit earlier than she normally gets up. It took a little doing in order to get her fully awake, hehe.

This girl should be in pictures. What else can I say?

We like to call this the electric finger, for obvious reasons.

Chelsea was waving at Dr. Mario, who she thought was waving at her. Cute.
