Looking at Pictures

sThis is what Dad and Chelsea were doing while waiting for the "Chelsea Speaks 2" video (found of facebook) to render on the computer. They were looking at old pictures including mission photos and pictures of Poppy.

What a cute expression! Chelsea was having such a good time hanging out with Daddy! They sat snuggled here for probably half an hour or more, looking at and commenting on photos.

So many comments! She especially liked barking, "ow wow wow wow" when she looked at Poppy pictures.

I love how Chelsea starts out sitting pretty much upright, but after awhile she leans way over onto Daddy and then by the end, she was nestled snuggly between Daddy and the arm of the chair.

Here she is tucked in the side. She moved herself around and seemed completely comfortable and at ease with it. What a cutie. Not very ladylike in a dress, but oh well. :)

I love my family!

Funny Stuff

We visited Auntie Jennifer in the ceramics lab last Saturday. Look at all her cool projects! They are even cooler when they are finished and glazed. Chelsea had a fun time getting dusty and dirty, but she didn't care too much about playing with the clay. We thought she might like it. But no. Oh well. Maybe in a couple years.

Here is Chelsea after stuffing her face as full as possible with cereal before getting down from the chair. Goofy girl. She always has to fit in as much as possible. We don't take her food away, I don't know where she got the idea of eat it now or it disappears.

More fun in the tub! Here Chelsea is peeking around the edge of the curtain. She HAD been flattened against the tub peeking up from underneath, but she saw the camera and I didn't get a shot of her little eyeballs peering up. It was pretty cute.

Who knows what this means?! She's just being her usual goofy silly self!

Here she is in the ceramics lab pretending she's driving a huge ship. Or something. I don't really know what she was imagining. I can't wait till she can tell me in coherent sentences what is going on in her little brain! Words are coming more and more! We are going to try to get her talking in another video tonight after Rick gets home and after my primary meeting.

Here's what I mean about her being silly and goofy. She heard some music on the TV and so she started directing, then it's funny how she zones out for a minute. I asked her if she wants to get out of the tub. She says no and dives back into the tub. I have no idea what made her say Shh. Then she talks and slides around for a bit. Goofy!

Today

Amazingly, there is still a surviving balloon from Chelsea's birthday party in May. Not this blue one. It is red and significantly smaller, but still, it lives. So we dug out some fresh ones and Chelsea is starting to discover the joys of "boons." She's really good at going up and down stairs and I think our stair barrier might be on the verge of crumble. Yay! We haven't taken too many pictures recently, but we got a couple cute videos. I put a video on facebook since it was too big to upload on blogger. Many of you who read this blog have already seen it, being part of facebook yourselves. If not, you'll just have to trust me that it is really cute. She says many words now and the facebook vid proves it!

General Conference

Chelsea and Tash played through General Conference.

We still attempt pigtails occasionally, despite the fact that they NEVER stay in very long. I love how they stick straight out! I guess mommy's hair used to do that when she was little, too.

Jump, Jump, Jump! This was taken just today while Daddy was on his lunch break. Look how BIG Chelsea is!

Awww. Daddy is so much fun!

Still giggling at Daddy. And yes, he is laying on the kitchen floor.

This is her new favorite book because Abby Cadaby is on the cover. Elmo is still right on the top of her list also, but she says Abba Abba Abba quite often too. I like how she points out the cheese. I'm not sure what she said when she pointed to the hat, and she sort of said pizza when I asked her what the pizza is. She usually says it a little better. She says all sorts of things. Recently she started saying bath, Beth, she called herself "C" once, popcorn, Oscar, and I can't even think of everything right now. She's coming along so fast!

Her aunites taught her to lay down and pretend to be sleeping. She says shh shh shh as she lays on the floor or a pillow. Adorable! She makes Oooooo noises when she plays with her toy ghost. She's figured out how lids work on toy dishes. She slurps when pretend eating but not when really eating (most of the time). She feeds her baby dolls and gives them kisses on the lips. She loves her books the best of all her toys, even Tash, though she might be a close second. What else. It's hard to list all the cute new things she does nowadays. There's so many things! She pretends to talk on the phone and says hello like eh oh, over and over. Lately she's been walking and dancing on her tip toes. Dancing sporadically. She directed all the songs during conference, occasionally dancing or swaying also. She says Hi and it sounds just like Hi. Bye is still buh buh, with a wave every time. Well I think I could go on for a long time, but it's time for Mommy to go to bed. Chelsea actually went to bed on time tonight and I think she will be up early.

Oh and she likes to knock on doors, even if they are just in a picture in her book. And she likes to point out your ears, eez, even if she has to dig through your hair to find them. There's so much more I am thinking of, but I will have to save it for later!

Twinners

I guess I should have put the third picture down first to explain my blog title. I thought it would be really cute if Chelsea and I dressed the same one day. Twinners!
Well here Chels is just being her cute self, thrilled about something or other. I don't remember what. Maybe she was dancing...she does that often nowadays. So cute.

Just chillin in front of the couch. She sometimes stands there and then just flops backward like this on the couch. I don't know how she bends like that so easily. Ah to be young again... ;)

So not only did we both have long sleeved pink shirts (not the same shade, I know) and black pants, but we both had pigtails, too! Check out the dimples! Her pigtails didn't last nearly as long as mine did. Oh well.

Soccer face! Chelsea LOVES balls. She used to call them balls, but now she refers to them as "bugga." Who knows why she changed it. Sometimes she acts just like a little puppy putting the ball in her mouth and giving it to me. I throw it and she goes to get it and bring it back. Fetch! (It's cute when she acts like a puppy) Sometimes she'll even pick up the ball with her mouth. I get a kick out of it. I love her baby blues in this bright picture.

Fun with Daddy! He still gets her to laugh better than anybody!

She kept putting the tennis ball and racket ball up by her cheeks and grinning really big. I was trying to capture it, but of course I missed it.

Here is some of her dancing, though sometimes she gets much more carried away than this. I love her sound effects when she starts to spin. It's not just little boys that play with sound effects. She drives her cars (and baby strollers sometimes) out loud, too!

Time Flies

I think this is adorable. Her face is priceless, and you can't even tell that she's diaper-free! (momentarily-we haven't attempted potty training yet...sigh...)

Help! I've climbed in and I can't get out!

I gave up trying to keep Chelsea out of this cupboard. We took out all the breakables and everyone is happy! She hasn't even cared that all the others are locked up. :)

This stuff is so much more interesting than toys...

Summer's over

Even though summer is over, life is still pretty much the same for us, despite the weather abruptly changing from hot hot hot to chilly pretty much as soon as school started. We are all battling cough and cold season. Rick and Chelsea have pretty much lost the fight. I am the only one still mostly healthy. No cough or sore throat for me.

Rick and I are both now on Facebook, so any of you friends that are on facebook, look us up!

Rawr!

We brought out the old carseat again because some friends of ours had a little baby that likes to sit up in carseats. Chelsea also took advantage of the nice loungy seat while reading her book the other day.

Whoa, leaned back a little too far I think. She thought it was funny until she got tangled in the blankets and couldn't get up. I was trying to capture the cuteness of her holding her baby wrapped in a blanket while she herself was wrapped in a blanket. She squirmed and threw herself back and ruined that cuteness, but this chubby smile is also quite cute I think. ;)

What were we watching? I think Between the Lions was on. Great show. I highly recommend it.

Did I mention that Chelsea was not feeling very well today? For the first half hour after she woke up, all she wanted to do was drink a bottle of juice and snuggle with me on the couch. As much as I hate it when she's sick, I love that she is so snugly. She says "hug" every time she hugs her baby. So sweet.

She looks like she might be smiling, but really she's trying to hand me the camera case and is getting upset that I'm taking her picture instead of the camera case. Her face was cute and smiley, hence I was taking a picture. I've gotta get a faster camera....
